Let us hope we are not invaded by uninvited guests.

May this year be kind to all new classmates who will be joining the ranks of the Social Security and Medicare crowd.
May the year be kind to all those who will not be joining us at the mail box and the waiting area at the hospital. In other words,HAVE A GREAT YEAR!!!!

Happy New Year to everyone. Remember when we used to think 65 was old? I look at my 70 & 80 year old neighbors and think 65 is young. As of right now, my retirement date is 2 Nov. 2012. That will give me about a month before the Mayans run out of time. Give me a call when you are in Salt Lake and I will buy you lunch at the Church Office Building. 801-240-5787.

"End of days" does not necessarily mean the END OF THE WORLD. It has been referred to as "end of life as we know it". Some changes are in store for the way we live. Ironic that it will also be the presidential election of a new president or the continuation of the old. As far as I'm concerned, I say "Out with the Old and in with the New."

Well, much like you, I live a considerable distance from the inner city--36 miles distance--with the National Forest wilderness right next door. In less than a half hour I can drive to a backcountry trailhead and then hike all day and not see another human being. They are all, of course, caught in the world of people-at-work and megalopolis freeways. On the mountains all is well; down below--not so much so.

No stones showed up in the 100 or so tests I had, but by golly when they removed it they found it full of stones. It's only been 2 weeks so I'm still in pain and grumpy as hell and no longer trust tests, oh and my share of the bill is over $3,000.

As for hiking, being a fairweather hiker I'm not going up there until the snow melts. My summer sojourns in the high country have already been mapped, and I'm ready for at least four peaks which are well over 10,000 feet high--one well over 11,000 feet. What, did you all retire and move to Florida? I'm actually thinking of retiring this year. My husand wants to work two more years and retire to Walla Walla, a really wonderful town known for its vineyards and prison. We visited this year and really fel in love with it, my daughter was there when my grandson was shopping colleges (Whitman) and she wants to retire there as well. If you're traveling, check it out, but don't move there it'll be too crowded.

I'm here! Where are you? So, why are you attending prison in Walla Walla? Yep, the old Discussion Board has evidently discussed itself out. I believe the latest silence is a record. I was going to enter something but then I figured I had spent too many words in promoting my humor and opionions--not to mention hiking trips. Sometimes you just get bored with hearing yourself talk. So I went to Facebook. If anyone wants to read one Jerry (aka Gerald) Chadburn poem after another, go to Facebook--they're all public. And now I'll be speechless.

Hey Pierce, Walla Walla sounds like a song title. I have heard from many that the place is beautiful regardless of the prison. Does any know how Mike B. is doing. I have been in touch with Tom. It sounds like everyone is having some type of health issues. I had an angiogram done on July 6 to see if there was any blockage. I am thankful all went well. The doctors gave me a clean bill of health to travel to Italy. I am off on Sunday for three beautiful weeks. Take care everyone.

Hi Dominic, I wondered when someone was going to comment. It appears that this discussion board and website will go dark unless a new webmaster is willing to step forward. I am not enough of a "geek" to know where or how to start. Any suggestions?

Hi Steve, I would think that someone on the reunion committee would have someone who could take over as webmaster. At one time, I read in the discussion board that Margaret Gardiner's son was involved in setting up the discusson board. I hope this site doesn't go down. If it does, remember that Tom set up a face book account that I believe is still activite but I prefer the discussionn board. It is easier to access and comment. Let's hope someone will take it over and if donations are required, we will all contiribute.

The reunion committee has met and discussed finding a new webmaster. Ron Moore is taking Mike's place as chairman (Mike is not doing well). As it stands right now, the website will continue as it has and if we have a problem, my husband, Steve, will help. He is the webmaster for OHS65, but has said he won't let high school rivalry be a problem. If anyone knows of someone who has the knowledge from our class, please let us know. Aaron, my son, who hosts the website doesn't know the program Tom was using but says he will help. But hopefully, this site won't disappear and we will find someone permanent.

I recently contacted Mike Deamer regarding a legal matter and we also discussed the passing of Tom Day. Tom and Mike were close personal freinds and Mike was a regular visitor throughout Tom's ordeal. Apparently, Tom suffered from multiple Diabetes related illnesses and afflictions. He was bedridden, in pain and his passing was really a blessing.
